Non-toxic pedicure at home - more than just a beauty Treatment

Our skin is an organ and just like our liver, it is also a medium that detoxes the human body.
And the skin on the soles of our feet is actually unique SubhanAllah, bcs it has the largest pores on our body and so through the feet, our body can detox waste material. So, yeah people that have stinky feet, often have a health issue or toxic overload. Yepp, you can actually detox your body through your feet. That's also why you shouldn't wear plastic slippers or other toxic material directly on your feet, bcs those toxins enter your body through the pores.
In traditional chinese medicine (TCM), the feet are an indicator of your health; cracked heels can be due to a liver problem, for example. There are also certain meridians that go from your feet directly to your liver, gallbladder or womb. That's why women should never have cold feet and always wear wool socks at home to avoid getting a cold womb (that's also why you treat symptoms of a cold womb by applying a fenugreek poultice on your feet, or soaking the feet in ginger/black pepper/ chilli or other herbal mixtures).
Or for example, having to pluck the hair on your toes so often is super annoying, however it is actually a good indicator of having a healthy cardiovascular system, so good blood circulation.
But enough of those side infos. I want to share with you a simple non-toxic pedicure:
If you want to detox, then add baking soda and epsom salt (I use 1 cup in total) to a stainless steel pot and add hot water. Soak your feet for at least 25min (bcs after 20 min is when the body truly begins to detox). Then use a pumice stone on your foot soles. Yes, that is all you need for soft soles. You don't need any crazy peels or electric files or stuff. If it doesn't work, then you have to file faster and harder, just like falling on concrete can erase your skin... it's the same concept.
If you have really bad feet, than soak them in ginger water instead, just use 1/2 - 1 tsp dried ginger powder. But, in TCM that is used to boost fertility and especially for people that have too much coolness in their body, so if you are on the other side (warm and flushed), then be mindful of that bcs it can make you feel hot and sweaty, for the next following days even. Yet, ginger really helps to soften tough skin, so you be the judge :).
Then just use nail cleaners (this metal tool with a pointy tip) to go under your nails and around it, to remove any dead skin. Yes, you don't need to clip/file away your cuticles, bcs after a long foot bath they are so soft, you can just wipe/scrape them away with that metal nail cleaner or even a cuticle pusher.
Then just oil your feet. Generally, I highly recommend before going to sleep, that you put castor oil on your feet and wear lose cotton socks. Castor oil penetrates deeply into your tissue and breaks up any swelling in your feet, it is even used to treat bunions and other joint issues, apparently it even helps with athritis. Oiling your feet daily, will significantly reduce your maintance care. Also, if you just quickly go over your foot soles with the pumice stone everytime you take a bath, you won't develop dry heels to begin with (unless you have liver issues).
There is one more thing I want to mention, which you fascia. Often times people think they have dry foot soles, but in reality they have fascia issues. For example, if you have small white balls around your heels shining through, then that means you have dry fascia. The same goes for hard places on your soles that aren't calloses. To get rid of them, you just need a Gua Sha tool and massage them out regularly, like after a foot bath. This is not only for asthetic reasons, bcs your fascia is connected throughout your entire body and when it dries up, it can quickly lead to discomfort in other places of the body, like your lower back or shoulders.
Also, if you want healthy and pretty feet, I highly recommend switching to shoes that have a wider toebox, like barefoot shoes. Generally, barefoot shoes really do help in improving your knee-hip allignment and overall posture.
